Day
1: Arrival in Siem Reap (D)
You'll
be cordially greeted upon arrival and transferred to hotel for check-in
and tour briefing. Time allowing, we'll take an orientation tour
of the city centre to feel the vibrancy of a Cambodia awakening
from her tragedy. This evening you'll be guests at the Welcome Dinner
with entertainment from Apsara dancers.
Day
2: Siem Reap (B)
We
start exploring Siem Reap's Angkorian relics, from Ta Prohm to Banteay
Kdei to Sras Srang, to Takeo, to Thommanon and Chau Say Thevoda.
This afternoon we continue with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, smiling
faces of Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, Terraces of Elephant and Leper
King. Hike up and view the sun set into the western baray of Angkor
temples from Phnom Bakheng.
Day
3: Siem Reap (B)
This
morning we'll be touring the epic Angkor Wat - a vast rambling complex
of diverse temple structures, dating from the 9th to the 13th centuries.
Many are adorned with exquisite carvings and bas-reliefs; some are
so entwined with trees and vines that they almost returned to the
jungle. Afternoon, we drive out of town to Pour Krom and walk through
this lovely village to see local life. Experience an ox-cart ride
before a cruise taking us to floating life on Tonle Sap Lake. The
evening will be free for you to relax or browsing the Les Artisans
D'Angkor, the rebirth of Khmer Arts.
Day
4: Siem Reap -Phnom Penh (B)
Transfer
to the airport for a morning flight to Phnom Penh and take a tour
of the city's outstanding attractions. Start from the Royal Palace
with the dazzling Silver Pagoda to the National Museum. The tour
also takes in the Independence Monument and Wat Phnom. Conclude
the day with a leisure walk along the Sisowath Boulevard.
Day
5: Phom Penh - Hanoi (B)
We
visit Central Market, Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, and the infamous
Cheoung Ek Killing Fields before the flight to Hanoi. Meeting and
greeting upon arrival then transfer to the hotel.
Day
6: Hanoi (B)
Today's
full day tour includes Ho Chi Minh Memorial complex, taking in his
mausoleum, the Presidential Palace and his idyllic wooden home built
on stilts. Next we continue to the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple
of Literature, and become acquainted with Vietnam's two major religions,
Buddhism and Confucianism. In the afternoon we visit the fascinating
museum of Ethnology, which includes full size replicas of amazing
ethnic minority tribal buildings found across Vietnam. Later we
explore downtown Hanoi including Ngoc Son Pagoda on Hoan Kiem lake
and Ma May Street in Hanoi's Old Quarter to see a classic example
of late 19th-century architecture. Afterwards we proceed to the
famed water puppet theatre, a traditional art form created by village
farmers around the Red River Delta region.
Day
7: Hanoi-Halong (B, L, D)
After
breakfast we journey east to Vietnam's greatest natural wonder,
Halong Bay. We board our beautiful traditional wooden junk and spend
a full day and night cruising the bay's 3000 magnificent limestone
islets. In the evening when the boat is anchored in the middle of
the stunning lagoon, we enjoy a wonderful seafood meal and later
there is opportunity for an evening swim from the side of the boat.
Kayaks are also available if specified at time of booking. Overnight
on luxurious boat.
Day
8: Halong-Hanoi -Saigon (Brunch)
Wake
up to fresh coffee and take a small boat to a nearby sandy beach
for relaxing & swimming & sightseeing. For a great photo opportunity
it is well worth walking up to the hill top pagoda which overlooks
the entire bay. Afterwards we return for a wholesome breakfast before
cruising back to Halong City. En route the junk weaves through strange-shaped
rock formations that invite comparisons from fighting cocks to dragons
and even further! After brunch on board disembark and return to
Hanoi and board a flight to Saigon.
Day
9: Saigon (B, L)
This
morning we'll be touring the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame
Cathedral, the French Post Office, the Opera House, the City Hall,
Ben Thanh market. Afternoon, we drive west to the amazing tunnel
system in Cu Chi, which was built by communist guerillas during
the Vietnam War. Return to town for the evening.
Day
10: Saigon - My Tho - Can Tho (B, L)
We
explore Saigon's famous China Town area visiting Binh Tay market
and Thien Hau pagoda before the journey to My Tho - a prosperous
town in Mekong Delta. Upon arrival we take a boat cruise along the
many rivers and small canals, experiencing the lively Delta-lifestyle
along the waterways. We'll visit typical villages, local workshops
producing Mekong products and rich fruit farms. We'll taste honey
and wine, sample Elephant Ear fish and succulent tropical fruit.
After a pleasant rest, we travel to Can Tho where we take an orientation
tour around this interesting city and see the waterfront at Ninh
Kieu Quay and experience the exciting bustle of Hau River life.
Day
11: Can Tho - Phu Quoc (B)
This
morning, very early, enjoys a boat ride to the extraordinary river
market of Cai Rang. Famous as one of the largest on the complex
of water-ways that comprise the Mekong Delta, this market provides
exotic fruits and vegetables for a vast market. Next we take a flight
to Phu Quoc nicknamed "The Pearl Island". The rest of the day is
free at leisure.

12 -14: Phu Quoc (B)
Free
days to relax at your tropical beach resort.
Day
15 Phu Quoc - Saigon - Departure (B)
Free
till transfer to the airport for a flight to Saigon where you'll
connect with a flight out of Vietnam.
